Welcome to Downtown Durango

Located between the Animas River and Fort Lewis College, Downtown Durango is a quiet mountain town with just enough commercial activity and culture to make it a popular stop for many Rocky Mountain tourists. In the center of it all, Main Avenue is a Nationally Registered Historic District where you’ll find many boutique shops, restaurants, and bars, along with galleries and historic buildings. Here, Old West history blends with Southwest aesthetic, all with the liveliness you’d expect from a college town.

Homes for sale in Downtown Durango consist mostly of turn-of-the-century single-family homes. Craftsman-style architecture dominates the suburban streets to the east of downtown, and many structures retain their historic vintage façades. The streets are walkable, bikeable, and lined with trees, and The Lift provides buses and trolleys across town and to the nearby college campus.
