Located about 8 miles west of downtown Durango, the sleepy subdivision of Durango West is divided by Highway 160 into Durango West 1 to the south and Durango West 2 to the north. This quiet mountain locale is somewhat isolated from the rest of Durango and is 1000 feet higher in elevation. The surrounding area is full of hiking trails, ski slopes, and picturesque lakes. The nearby Animas River brings in tourists and locals alike for rafting and water tours.
 
The selection of homes for sale in Durango West runs the gamut from rustic log dwellings to newer homes constructed in the last few decades. It’s a treat to take a cruise around this part of town and see well-crafted dwellings, some on spacious, verdant lots.
